About the Meeting

BFHI Country Coordinators from all around the world, WHO, UNICEF and key international partners are joining together to discuss how best to promote, protect and advance, following WHO & UNICEF guidance, the implementation of the Baby-friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) and its extensions to Neonatal Units, and the Community, including mother-friendly care, by:

  • 1. Sharing reflections, experiences, barriers, opportunities, strategies, and successes in the implementation of the initiative,
  • 2. Discussing visions and strategies to move forward.
  • 3.Discussing new alliances and how to expand our vision to countries outside the network.

The goal is to strengthen support for the implementation of the Baby Friendly Initiative globally.
