Regions of the World
To support the provision of technical assistance, the World Health Organization and UNICEF have grouped member states into regions. The BFHI Network follows the same regional structure but may include some subnational entities not recognized by the WHO and UNICEF. There are six regions: Africa, Americas, Europe, Eastern Mediterranean, Southeast Asia and Western Pacific. The BFHI Network has members in four of the six regions. BFHI Coordinators from individual countries within each region have submitted data pertaining to the BFHI and breastfeeding.
